Actor Kelvin Fletcher, known for winning the 2019 season of Strictly Come Dancing, had plans to move to America with his wife, Liz Marsland, who is also an actor. However, the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted their relocation aspirations to California.
Kelvin shared in a Country Life podcast that their initial goal was to pursue the Hollywood dream as actors. Nevertheless, due to the pandemic, they redirected their plans towards a different path.
This new path led them to the Peak District, where they decided to purchase a farm despite Kelvin’s lack of farming experience. Reflecting on their decision, Kelvin mentioned that although they were not originally contemplating running the farm commercially, they were drawn to the idea of rural living.
Taking a bold step, they allowed TV cameras into their home to document their transition to farm life. Kelvin humorously remarked on the challenges of working with family and the vulnerability of inviting cameras into their personal space.
The experience of becoming farmers has been transformative for Kelvin and Liz, influencing their food choices, connection to nature, and family dynamics. Their journey in the countryside has reshaped their perspectives on life and the importance of being present in the moment.
