Christine McGuinness stole the spotlight at the annual Pride of Britain Awards with her glamorous appearance on the red carpet. Despite not actively seeking romance, her friend Will Njobvu had other ideas in mind.
Their lighthearted exchange about Christine’s romantic life, including an unexpected mention of Loose Women star GK Barry, became a highlight of the evening. Will showered Christine, aged 37, with praise, describing her as a “very sensitive soul” deserving of genuine happiness in her future relationships.
“Whoever she chooses to be with next must match her level,” Will emphasized. “Christine deserves the best, whether it’s a man or a woman.”
Christine, who has been open about focusing on herself after parting ways with Paddy McGuinness, smiled as Will spoke warmly about her. However, when probed about her own love life, she admitted she wasn’t ready to divulge much at the moment.
“I’m not ready to discuss my personal life openly,” she disclosed to the Daily Star. “Until I feel comfortable sharing, I’ll just…” she trailed off with a chuckle, maintaining her privacy.
Despite her reservations, Will teased her playfully. “Many people are interested in her,” he remarked with a grin.
“A lot of people are messaging her! If I could pair Christine with any celebrity, it would be GK Barry! Just imagine. However, GK is already taken, and although I admire her energy and spirit, I think she would be a great match for Christine.”
Christine couldn’t help but laugh at the suggestion, clearly flattered. “I adore GK Barry, but she’s in a relationship!” she exclaimed.
“I wasn’t actively looking for a date tonight but…” she said mischievously, leaving the sentence unfinished.
Not one to miss a chance, Will added with a wink, “I’m going to play matchmaker, GK Barry and Christine McGuinness, let’s make it happen!”
However, GK Barry, the TikTok star and Saving Grace podcast host, is currently in a relationship with footballer Ella Rutherford, making Will’s dream pairing just a fantasy for now.
Christine was initially set to seek love on the recent Celebs Go Dating series but withdrew from the show early on. After an emotional conversation with dating experts Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson, she opted to leave the agency. Anna commended Christine’s decision to prioritize self-growth, both on and off the screen, before bravely exiting the process.
