Craig Revel Horwood, known for his role as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, has taken on a new and exciting position that involves examining the peculiar and meticulous habits people have about their homes. A recent study revealed that a majority of Brits are particular about various aspects of their living spaces, from how towels are folded to the use of lighting and the significance of personal furniture.
An in-depth survey of 2,000 adults highlighted that 80% of individuals admit to being particular about tidiness, ornament placement, décor choices, and personal touches within their homes. Specific behaviors like not allowing feet on sofas, organizing cutlery meticulously, and ensuring the bed is always made before leaving the house were identified as key priorities by respondents.
The research, conducted by interior brand Sofology, led to the appointment of Craig Revel Horwood as the ‘Head of Fusstomer Experience.’
Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Craig mentioned, “I am thoroughly enjoying my position as the head of fusstomer experience. It’s a fantastic opportunity, and I feel incredibly important in this role. Known for my high standards and outspoken nature, I am dedicated to maintaining a fabulous experience.”
Furthermore, the study indicated that 82% of individuals see no issue with being particular about their home aesthetics, with 60% having unique preferences they wouldn’t change for anything in the world. Partners were identified as the main culprits for breaking household rules, causing frustration among homeowners. Despite this, a quarter of respondents choose not to address rule violations.
Interestingly, the survey revealed that individuals go beyond daily annoyances when guests are expected, spending an average of 44 minutes preparing their homes for visitors. For many, this meticulousness stems from a desire to feel more comfortable and at ease in their own space when things are correctly organized.
A spokesperson from Sofology emphasized the importance of catering to individual preferences, stating, “We celebrate the art of selection by embracing our fusstomers and paying attention to detail, meeting even the most particular standards to ensure everyone has a home that reflects their unique style.”
