Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices as an update has been rolled out by the UK TV platform. The update introduces several changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Some broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.
The update includes four notable changes. Three existing channels have been rebranded with new names, which will now be visible in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, featuring music from previous decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, and That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply That’s Classics.
In addition to the rebrands, a new channel called That’s Entertainment is set to launch on Channel 75. Although specific program listings are not widely available yet, more information is expected soon. Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of the ongoing changes made by broadcasters to ensure diverse and up-to-date content offerings.
Freeview users should expect these changes to reflect on the TV planner. If not, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. Your device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly throughout the year, this recent update is notably significant, making it advisable to retune sooner rather than later.
