“EDF’s Sunday Saver Challenge Returns: Earn Free Electricity!”

EDF has reintroduced its Sunday Saver challenge for February, offering customers free electricity on Sundays in exchange for reducing their electricity usage during peak weekday hours from 4pm to 7pm. By shifting their electricity consumption habits, customers can earn between four to 16 hours of free electricity the following Sunday. EDF customers, particularly those with smart meters, have until February 1 to sign up for this offer.

According to EDF, more than 260,000 households have already benefited from over 17 million free hours of electricity through the Sunday Saver initiative, resulting in £5.2 million in credits applied to their bills. In February, customers can take advantage of four Sunday Saver challenges on February 15, 22, and March 1, 8.

Natasha Shields from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, shared her positive experience with the Sunday Saver challenge, stating that it has helped her family manage increasing living costs. Shields explained that by adjusting their electricity usage habits during peak hours, they have earned significant free hours on Sundays, which they use for household chores and activities.

Jon Perks, the Sales & Marketing Director at EDF, emphasized the practicality of the Sunday Saver program, especially during the winter months when energy bills tend to be higher. He highlighted that customers can monitor their electricity usage through the Energy Hub platform to identify opportunities for saving energy and reducing their carbon footprint.

Customers can track their Sunday Saver progress and household energy consumption on the Energy Hub via MyAccount. Additionally, EDF is providing new and existing customers who sign up for any of its electric vehicle tariffs with £50 credit. The electric vehicle tariffs offer five hours of cheaper electricity every night between 12am and 5am for both home and vehicle charging, promoting sustainability and cost savings for customers.
