A quartet of women accompanied by their children consumed steaks and cocktails totaling £300 at a restaurant in Norwich, then left without settling the bill. The eatery, Cheers, recently launched in Norwich following successful establishments in Thetford and Bury St Edmunds, offering a unique dining experience. The restaurant’s mission, as stated on its website, is to provide exceptional service, high-quality food, and a memorable dining experience for every guest.
Despite receiving high praise from customers and achieving a 4.7-star rating online, Cheers faced a setback when four women absconded from the restaurant after enjoying steaks and Baileys shots on October 5. The bill presented to The Sun revealed that the group indulged in over £130 worth of steaks and consumed 11 shots of Baileys valued at £71.50.
Andrea Marinho, the owner of Cheers, expressed disappointment over the incident and emphasized the need for accountability. The establishment, still relatively new in Norwich, continues to strive for success amid challenges. Norfolk Police released CCTV images of the women involved in the theft, urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
The police spokesperson stated that the incident occurred on October 5 at 6:10pm at Surrey Street in Norwich. Individuals recognizing the suspects or possessing relevant information were encouraged to contact Norfolk Police, quoting reference number 36/72063/25 for assistance.
