A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning when a woman and her dog were fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the A8 Greenock Road in Port Glasgow, Scotland. The 42-year-old, identified as Amy Gray, and her dog Reggie were hit and killed by a Land Rover Sport on the eastbound carriageway of Greenock Road. Despite prompt response from emergency services around 7.05am, both Ms. Gray and her pet succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Land Rover escaped unharmed, while the roadway was temporarily closed for approximately five hours for investigative purposes. Authorities have informed Ms. Gray’s family, and a detailed report will be presented to the Procurator Fiscal.
