Following snowfall in various UK regions, Double Cold Weather Payments have been distributed to select households this week.
Valued at £25 each, Cold Weather Payments are granted when temperatures reach or drop below zero degrees for seven consecutive days. Multiple payments are possible with prolonged cold spells.
Eighteen postcode regions have now qualified for two Cold Weather Payments, totaling £50, triggered on December 30 and January 6.

Administered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Cold Weather Payments will continue until March 31, 2026.
In Scotland, Cold Weather Payments have been replaced by the Winter Heating Payment, valued at £59.75.
