“Amorim’s Strategic Transfer Moves Pay Off: Cunha and Mbeumo Shine in United’s Victory”

Ruben Amorim’s preference for experienced players in the transfer market seems to be yielding positive results. Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo played crucial roles in Manchester United’s home victory against Brighton, marking the first win at home since 2022.

Cunha scored his debut goal for the club, while Mbeumo netted his fifth goal of the season as the Red Devils secured their third consecutive victory. The duo’s past performances in the Premier League for Wolves and Brentford, where they collectively scored 35 goals last season, showcased their attacking prowess.

United invested significantly, spending £200 million to bolster their forward options with the addition of Cunha, Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko. Early signs suggest that this investment is proving to be fruitful.

According to Gary Neville, United now possesses two players capable of turning games in their favor consistently. Neville emphasized that Cunha and Mbeumo’s prior Premier League experience and hunger to excel at a higher level make them valuable assets for the club.

Neville’s colleague Jamie Redknapp believes that United could aim for a top-five finish this season, emphasizing the team’s potential. However, he cautioned that the manager must remain vigilant as fortunes in football can change swiftly.

The victory over Brighton was deemed crucial for Amorim by Neville, who noted the release of pressure on the Portuguese coach following recent performances. Neville praised the team’s progress and highlighted the significance of the win in alleviating some of the scrutiny on Amorim.
