“Fatal Pub Assault: Wakefield Man Arrested for Murder”

A tragic incident at a pub in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, has resulted in the death of Tony Powles, 62, who passed away in the hospital following an assault on October 9. The police have apprehended Harry Mannion, 27, on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.

In a heartfelt tribute, Powles’ family described him as a cherished partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, emphasizing how he was loved by all who knew him. They expressed their sorrow over his untimely passing, noting the void his absence has left in their lives.

Mannion, a resident of Wakefield, initially faced charges of GBH but was later re-arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody. West Yorkshire Police confirmed the death of Powles and stated that a murder investigation has been launched, with ongoing efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
