Scottie Scheffler has now entered the prestigious $100 million club alongside golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy following a commanding victory at The American Express to kick off his season.
The current world No.1 has sent a strong message to the reigning Masters champion, indicating that he is a formidable contender in this season’s Major tournaments.
Scheffler faced a setback last January when an injury caused by a broken wine glass forced him out of action. However, he has made a remarkable comeback in 2026, clinching a four-shot victory in California with a final round score of six-under 66, totaling 27-under par.
This recent triumph marks Scheffler’s 20th win on the PGA Tour, all achieved within the past four years, securing him a lifetime membership. Notably, nine of these victories have been by a margin of four shots or more.
With his latest earnings of $1.656 million, Scheffler’s on-course winnings have surpassed $101 million, aligning him with Woods and McIlroy as the only players to have earned over nine figures on the PGA Tour.
At 29 years old, Scheffler has also joined the ranks of Woods and Jack Nicklaus as one of the few players to achieve 20 PGA Tour titles and four major wins before turning 30.
Reflecting on his success, Scheffler expressed humility, stating, “It’s a remarkable accomplishment to be mentioned alongside those iconic players. It signifies that I’m on the right path.”
Since claiming his first victory at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open, Scheffler has outperformed his peers, including McIlroy, with a total of 11 wins. Additionally, he has maintained consistent top finishes in his recent stroke-play events.
Former world No.1 Jason Day commended Scheffler’s remarkable consistency, likening his performance to that of Tiger Woods, emphasizing the challenge of staying motivated and hungry for success.
Looking ahead, Scheffler remains focused on further improvement, noting that despite a slow start last season, he believes there is room for growth. As the Masters tournament approaches, he aims to build on his success and continue his winning streak.
Teenager Blades Brown emerged as another standout performer during the event, expressing awe at witnessing Scheffler’s victory firsthand and highlighting the surreal experience of competing alongside the golf champion.
Overall, Scheffler’s dominance on the course and his determination to excel indicate a promising future in the world of professional golf.
