EE has unveiled an enhanced version of its Scam Guard service to combat the increasing number of scams targeting mobile users. The upgraded service, available to all EE pay-monthly customers for £2 per month, aims to provide improved protection against cyber threats.
Since its initial launch in 2024, EE’s Scam Guard has successfully thwarted 169 million scam and spam attempts. With the latest upgrade, EE anticipates doubling this prevention rate in the next year. The new Scam Guard features AI Triple-Lock Protection, a set of digital security measures powered by Norton’s Genie AI engine.
The upgraded service includes Safe Email, offering proactive scam protection for email accounts, Safe SMS for detecting fraudulent text messages in real-time, and Safe Web to block malicious websites during online activities. Additionally, Scam Assistant allows users to receive instant feedback on the safety of various messages or websites by uploading screenshots. Furthermore, Social Media Monitoring and Dark Web Monitoring are integrated to alert customers of any suspicious online activities promptly.
Malcolm Cubitt, Director of Product, Mobile at EE, emphasized the importance of staying ahead of evolving fraud tactics with innovative solutions like the enhanced Scam Guard service. EE continues to prioritize customer security by investing in network-level controls and employing a team of security experts to provide a higher level of cyber protection.
By offering a comprehensive suite of protective features, EE aims to empower customers to navigate the digital landscape with confidence and security.
