Chris Brown surprised everyone by appearing at a court hearing today in preparation for his upcoming trial related to an alleged nightclub incident. The 36-year-old singer unexpectedly showed up at the Southwark Crown Court in London, where he simply confirmed his name during the proceedings.
Accompanied by his co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, known as HoodyBaby, Brown faced charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon in a public setting, to which he pleaded not guilty. Additionally, he denied the more severe accusation of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm in a previous court appearance.
The charges stem from an alleged altercation at a London club, Tape, in 2023, where music producer Abe Diaw was reportedly attacked. Both Brown and Akinlolu pleaded not guilty to causing actual bodily harm, and their trial is scheduled to commence in October 2026.
Earlier this year, Brown was arrested at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester after authorities discovered his presence in the country. Despite being initially remanded, he was later released on bail by a London court, where he was mandated to pay a £5 million security fee.
Subsequently, Brown embarked on his Breezy Bowl XX tour across Europe, which has now concluded. Following the tour’s end, he expressed gratitude to his supporters on Instagram, acknowledging the collective effort that made his success possible.
