The family of Virginia Giuffre expressed their joy, stating that she has achieved victory by bringing down a British prince. This comes after the recent announcement that the prince will lose all his royal titles.
In a statement to the BBC, Virginia’s family remarked, “Today, an average American girl from a typical American family has succeeded in taking down a British prince with her honesty and exceptional bravery,” as mentioned by her brother Skye Roberts and sister-in-law Amanda.
“Virginia Roberts Giuffre, our sister, who was a minor when she faced the alleged sexual assault by Andrew, never gave up on seeking justice for what happened to her and others like her.
“Today, she celebrates her triumph. We, her family, together with her fellow survivors, will continue the fight initiated by Virginia and will persist until all those involved with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell are held accountable.”
Mounting pressure has been witnessed following further inquiries into the connection between Andrew and the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has consistently denied all accusations against him.
Sigrid McCawley, the lawyer representing Virginia Giuffre in her civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew for sexual assault, described the removal of Andrew’s titles as a significant turning point.
McCawley stated, “Virginia Giuffre’s voice has reshaped history. Her courage, determination, and strength have led to this pivotal moment. As we recognize the importance of the King stripping Andrew of the title ‘Prince,’ it should serve as a lesson to all to listen, acknowledge, and support abuse survivors.”
This evening, Buckingham Palace announced that the King has initiated the formal process of revoking all royal titles and honors from Andrew, including the title of ‘prince.’
The former duke will also be required to vacate the 30-room Royal Lodge, which he previously shared with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. This decision follows criticism over the minimal rent Andrew paid for the Windsor property over the 20 years he resided there.
It is anticipated that Andrew will relocate to a residence on the private Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, funded privately by King Charles, due to what the Palace deems as “serious lapses in judgment.”
