Streaming content through devices like Fire TV Sticks has become a popular choice for many households. However, it’s important to note that not all methods of accessing shows and movies are legal.
To address concerns about the legality of streaming, a new option for online content viewing has emerged that is completely above board.
eBay is now offering the PLEIO, a puck-shaped device powered by Freely that grants access to over 50 live channels for free. Freely also provides on-demand content, a TV guide, personalized recommendations, and the ability to pause or rewind live TV.
In addition to TV services, the PLEIO box offers access to more than 250 games through the PLEIO Extra platform, complete with a controller. Buyers receive 12 months of PLEIO Extra access at no extra charge, with a subsequent monthly subscription cost of £9.99.
Other features of the PLEIO box include support for 4K streaming and a voice-enabled remote control. The device is available for £99 on eBay and Amazon.
The PLEIO box is reminiscent of Sky’s Stream box, which also enables content viewing without the need for a satellite dish or aerial. The main difference lies in the content range, with Sky offering a broader premium lineup not included in the Freely service.
Sky Stream customers have the option to add services like Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max for additional monthly fees starting at £15.
For households seeking free TV content over broadband, the PLEIO and Freely combination could be a practical choice. Conversely, viewers who prioritize live sports, movies, and premium entertainment may find Sky Stream to be a better fit.
