Manchester City is on the verge of receiving a decision on their Premier League charges case during the November international break. The league had accused Manchester City of violating their regulations more than two-and-a-half years ago with 115 alleged breaches. The verdict is expected imminently after a lengthy hearing that began in mid-September last year and is nearing its conclusion.
According to sources familiar with arbitration processes, legal experts are gearing up for a mid-November ruling, potentially coinciding with the upcoming international break, which will be the third break of the current season. The decision could overshadow upcoming votes on financial fair play scheduled for the following month, as per reports.
Several officials from Premier League clubs anticipate a resolution by the end of this year at the latest. It is mentioned that over 250,000 documents are involved in the case, indicating the complexity and scale of the investigation.
Analysts suggest that for every week of hearings, four weeks of deliberation are typically needed. Applying this framework, if Manchester City’s 12-week case follows this pattern, a conclusion is estimated to arrive in early November, in line with the reported expectations.
Former legal advisor to Manchester City, Stefan Borson, emphasized the need for a prompt decision, indicating that both parties are yet to receive the panel’s ruling. He expressed confidence in an imminent resolution, possibly within the next international window, dismissing the likelihood of delays extending into the following year.
