A man aged 57 was swiftly taken to the hospital in London’s Piccadilly Circus after being struck by a falling object. An air ambulance made an emergency landing at Trafalgar Square in response to the incident that occurred around 2:27 pm on Coventry Street.
According to a Metropolitan Police representative, emergency services are at the scene on Coventry Street, W1, after receiving reports that a piece of masonry fell from a building, hitting the man. The man is currently under treatment by the London Ambulance Service and will soon be transported to the hospital by London’s Air Ambulance. The extent of his injuries is not yet determined, and the incident is still ongoing, with people advised to avoid the area.
A spokesperson from London’s Ambulance Service stated that they were alerted at 2:27 pm on Tuesday to an injured person in Coventry Street, London, W1. Ambulance crews, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic practitioner, and London’s air ambulance were dispatched to the location. The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to a major trauma center in London.
An eyewitness informed LBC that the object knocked the man down, causing a severe head injury with substantial bleeding. The specific object that fell on the man has not been confirmed yet. The vicinity has been sealed off as a precaution.
