Psychiatric records from two weeks before his death depict Epstein as despondent, drawing a comparison between himself and the character Rain Man from the film starring Dustin Hoffman. It was also revealed that Epstein had previously attempted suicide on July 23, 2019, with an evaluation indicating his anxiety about returning to the SHU due to the unexplained marks on his neck.
Medical records documented Epstein’s treatment for neck and knee injuries, showing signs of friction and erythema. Nicholas Tartaglione, Epstein’s former cellmate, attempted to revive him during the incident. Tartaglione was later cleared of any wrongdoing and had been relocated from the cell before Epstein’s death.
While Epstein’s brother Mark raised suspicions of murder in an online tip to the FBI in February 2023, there is no substantial evidence supporting the theory that Epstein was murdered. The release of these extensive files follows public demands for transparency in the US government’s investigations into Epstein.
