Tiger Woods’ former spouse Elin Nordegren has expressed worries about his well-being following his arrest on suspicion of driving while impaired. The renowned US golf icon was taken into custody after his Land Rover rolled over in Florida on Friday. Although no injuries were reported, Woods had to exit the vehicle through the passenger door when it tipped onto its side.
The 50-year-old has been released on bail after facing charges of property damage and refusal to undergo a lawful test. According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, the 15-time Major champion exhibited signs of impairment and declined to provide a urine sample. Woods faced criticism from his partner, Vanessa Trump, and Nordegren is also troubled by this latest incident involving driving mishaps.
A source revealed, “The children have a close relationship with Tiger, so naturally, Elin is concerned. She wants him to recover. Both kids adore their father and enjoy spending time with him. Elin is worried about his involvement in another car accident and subsequent arrest.”
Woods was previously involved in a crash in 2009 while under the influence of sleeping pills. In 2017, he was charged with DUI after being found asleep at the wheel due to what he claimed was an adverse reaction to prescribed medication.
In a harrowing incident in 2021, Woods narrowly survived a high-speed crash in his SUV near Los Angeles, sustaining severe leg and ankle injuries. The golfer disclosed that surgeons contemplated amputation due to the extent of his injuries.
Regarding his recovery from the 2021 crash, the source added, “It was a grueling process for him. [Elin] simply wants him to prioritize his well-being. It’s about his health and being present for the children.”
Woods and former model Nordegren, 46, parted ways in 2010 and share two children, daughter Sam, 18, and son Charlie, 17. Currently, Woods is in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, the former spouse of Donald Trump Jr. His girlfriend expressed displeasure upon learning about Woods’ most recent accident, emphasizing the need for him to address his issues promptly to sustain their relationship.
