A fresh face has arrived on the TV judging scene, and he has some big shoes to fill. CBS Media Ventures unveiled a preview on Thursday for “Adam’s Law,” a new daytime courtroom series featuring Adam Levy, the 58-year-old son of the renowned Judge Judy.
For fans of Judge Judy’s sharp humor and no-nonsense attitude, Levy appears to bring a similar dynamic to the courtroom. In the trailer, he showcases quick-witted remarks that echo his mother’s style, evoking a sense of pride from the iconic TV judge.
Interestingly, Judge Judy initially had reservations about passing the torch to her son. In the preview, she jokingly admits that she wouldn’t have encouraged him to take on the show years ago because she wasn’t ready to relinquish her role. She even humorously expressed concern that he might outshine her.
The upcoming series, set to debut on September 14 and executive produced by Judge Judy herself, comes five years after the conclusion of the original show’s successful 25-season run on CBS. With a promise of riveting courtroom drama and a commitment to justice, Levy aims to continue his family’s legacy in the legal entertainment realm.
With over 25 years of legal expertise, including stints as a district attorney and teaching roles, Levy emphasizes the importance of truthfulness on “Adam’s Law.” Judge Judy is confident in her son’s abilities, predicting that his show will dominate daytime TV ratings much like hers did for three decades.
Levy’s familiarity with courtroom TV extends to his previous roles on programs like “Tribunal Justice” and “Justice on Trial.” “Adam’s Law” is scheduled to air on various CBS-owned stations in the U.S., including CBS LA and WCBS-TV, as well as on Citytv and Citytv+ in Canada starting September 14.
