Toddler Falls Down Elevator Shaft, Miraculously Survives

A young child fell down an elevator shaft while his parents watched in horror after a door he leaned on gave way. The incident occurred in Voronezh, Russia, where the family resided on the ground floor of their apartment building. The toddler miraculously avoided metal spikes at the bottom of the shaft, falling six feet in the dark.

The boy’s father, fearing the elevator might descend from above, risking their lives, immediately jumped in after him. The mother used a flashlight to help locate the child, while heroic neighbors on the third floor prevented the elevator from moving further, saving the pair from harm.

The father, Alexey, managed to retrieve his son through the damaged door and climb out safely. Fortunately, the child sustained minor bruises and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The family expressed gratitude that their child escaped with only a scare and minor injuries.

The concerned father criticized the building’s elevator system, citing frequent malfunctions and safety concerns. He highlighted the need for improved maintenance and operation standards to ensure residents’ safety. The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal investigation into the incident.

The child has since returned home and appears to have recovered from the ordeal. The family is relieved that their child was unharmed and emphasizes the importance of ensuring elevator safety in residential buildings.
