An 18-year-old individual was taken into custody in connection with an investigation into the death of a 79-year-old man.
The elderly man was attacked in Garforth, Leeds, at approximately 6:30 pm yesterday, as reported by the authorities. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Following the man’s death, detectives initiated a murder investigation to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Individuals who witnessed the event have been urged to reach out to the police.
According to a statement from West Yorkshire Police, emergency services received a call at 6:35 pm on the previous day (29 October) regarding the assault on the 79-year-old man. The individual succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital.
The police statement further noted, “An 18-year-old male has been apprehended on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody. The Homicide and Major Enquiry team detectives are conducting thorough investigations.”
