Claudia Winkleman from Strictly Come Dancing recently shared her candid reflections on her journey with the popular BBC show before revealing her departure earlier today. Beginning her stint on Strictly’s spin-off It Takes Two in 2004, she later co-hosted the Sunday results show with Tess Daly.
Transitioning to Saturday nights in 2014 alongside Tess, Claudia filled the gap left by Sir Bruce Forsyth. Speaking on the Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, she praised the show for its female-dominated leadership, emphasizing the strong bond among the team.
Acknowledging the familial atmosphere at Strictly, Claudia highlighted the long-standing relationships and shared experiences within the crew. Apart from her Strictly role, Claudia is known for her appearances on TV shows like The Piano and The Great British Sewing Bee.
Recently, Claudia has been hosting the successful BBC game show The Traitors, with the celebrity edition’s debut airing in the past weeks. Today, Claudia and Tess shocked fans by jointly announcing their departure from Strictly after 15 years of partnership.
In an Instagram video, the duo expressed gratitude for their time together on the show, thanking the BBC and the entire team. They mentioned their fondness for the crew and their plans to keep the “keep dancing” spirit alive even after leaving. Strictly Come Dancing is scheduled to return on BBC One this Saturday at 6.25 p.m.
