Welsh singer Charlotte Church is looking forward to better sleep after her stint on the show “Celebrity Traitors” came to an end. Church, aged 39, became the fourth celebrity eliminated this season on the BBC program.
“The Traitors” eliminated the outspoken Cardiff-born star due to her speculations about the show’s culprits. Church herself made headlines for asking an ex-boyfriend to find alternative accommodations at the V Festival.
Reports suggest that Church and her family were supposed to stay in a luxurious area at the Virgin Media camp, which was also expected to host her long-term partner, former Wales rugby player Gavin Henson.
However, plans went awry as Henson and his friends were asked to find other lodgings, leaving him without plans for the evening.
According to a source close to the situation, Church decided that Henson and his male friends should find somewhere else to stay, changing the initial arrangement.
The incident dates back to the 2009 V Festival, where Henson and Church had booked a yurt for a more upscale experience amidst the festival atmosphere in Chelmsford.
The luxurious accommodation reportedly cost £600 per night, offering amenities like Egyptian cotton linens and plush towels, but the experience did not meet their expectations.
Today, Henson manages The Fox pub in the Vale of Glamorgan, while Church remains in the public eye following her appearance on “Celebrity Traitors.”
Despite her brief time on the show, Church was eliminated early on by a trio of celebrity judges, including Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, and Cat Burns.
Apart from the V Festival incident, there was another instance where Church’s grandmother prevented Henson from staying near the singer, enforcing certain boundaries in their relationship.
During the mid-2000s, when Henson was excelling in rugby, Church would stay with her grandmother, who had strict rules about cohabitation before marriage.
Church once mentioned in 2005 that her grandmother would not approve of Henson staying over, emphasizing the need for separate sleeping arrangements to respect her grandmother’s values.
