Huddersfield Street Kitchen Mourns Loss of Beloved Volunteer

Tributes are pouring in for a Huddersfield mother, known as a resilient figure for her efforts at a street kitchen, who tragically passed away during a family vacation.

Kristen Jennifer, aged 41, from Almondbury, Huddersfield, was on a family trip to Turkey in September when she encountered breathing difficulties. Sadly, she passed away on September 30.

Since her passing, heartfelt tributes have been shared by her family and volunteers at Huddersfield Street Kitchen, where she was an essential part of the volunteer community. Described by her two sons as both a mother and a best friend, Kristen was celebrated for her positive outlook and willingness to assist everyone.

Before her sudden demise, Kristen had dedicated five years to supporting the local food project, Huddersfield Street Kitchen. Founder Danny Burrows, 43, praised Kristen, stating that all volunteers regarded her as a cherished member of their team.

Remembered for her caring nature and dedication, Kristen’s legacy lives on through the launch of a weekly ‘Kristen’s Night Kitchen service’ by volunteers at the kitchen. Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to aid Kristen’s family during this difficult period.

In an online tribute, the team at Huddersfield Street Kitchen honored Kristen as a strong and integral part of their community. The funds raised will be directed to supporting her family, emphasizing Kristen’s love for animals, especially horses.
