“Tiger Woods to Take Golf Break After Seventh Back Surgery”

Tiger Woods has acknowledged that he will be taking a break from golf following a recent back surgery in October. The American golfer underwent a procedure to replace a disc in his spine, marking his seventh back surgery and third major operation in the past two years, which also included surgeries on his Achilles and ankle.

Despite winning the Masters in 2019 after an 11-year gap, Woods has been struggling with injuries, making it difficult for him to compete in recent years. Although he managed to host his annual Hero World Challenge tournament in the Bahamas, he recognizes that a significant recovery period lies ahead before he can return to the golf course.

While joking about playing numerous events, Woods later emphasized the importance of focusing on his recovery before planning his future schedule. He recently received clearance to resume chipping and putting after a six-week recovery period, gradually progressing to more strenuous activities to strengthen his back.

One of Woods’ key motivations is to break the PGA record for most tournament wins, currently tied at 82 victories alongside golf legend Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, mentioned that walking around the course post-surgeries remains a significant challenge for the accomplished golfer.
