Sky viewers who enjoy movie marathons are in for a change as the company announces a consolidation of its channel lineup. Sky Cinema Animation (channel 312) will merge with Sky Cinema Family starting April 30, creating a unified hub for family-friendly films on channel 304. This move aims to streamline the service, offering a convenient single destination for viewers.
Following the merger, titles like Shrek, The Secret Life of Pets, Smurfs, How to Train Your Dragon, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Wicked will all be accessible in one place. While this means one less channel to browse, Sky assures that all content previously available on Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family.
Fans of Sky Cinema Animation need not despair entirely, as the standalone channel will make temporary comebacks during school holidays to entertain children. Sky has confirmed that it will be reinstated from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.
In addition to this channel update, Sky has ventured into the home security market with the introduction of new smart devices. Customers can now subscribe to a Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 per month plus a £15 upfront fee. This system includes features like full HD video recording, instant mobile alerts, customizable activity zones, two-way audio, and 30 days of cloud video storage.
For those seeking more advanced options, Sky offers a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 per month and a £20 upfront cost. This package includes an indoor camera and additional app controls, such as scheduled arming and automatic device modes.
