Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as HBO Max, the latest streaming service, has been launched. Customers with Sky Ultimate TV packages can now enjoy HBO Max at no additional cost, giving them access to popular titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and Young Sheldon, saving them over £50 annually.
Sky confirmed that Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV, as well as Sky Q customers with the appropriate package, will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. The service offers a wide range of HBO dramas and Warner Bros. films, including fan favorites like Succession and The Wire, alongside new Max Originals like The Pitt.
To access HBO Max, Sky Ultimate TV on Sky Glass or Sky Stream, or Sky Signature/Sky Entertainment on Sky Q customers can simply launch the HBO Max app from the homepage and follow the on-screen instructions. For those not on the Ultimate TV plan, they can switch to it starting at £22 per month, which will increase to £24 from April 1st.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, emphasized the significance of this offering, stating, “This marks a new era for Sky and NOW. For the first time, we’re bringing Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu together under one subscription, offering a unique integrated entertainment experience.” NOW Entertainment customers will also receive HBO Max at no extra charge through the NOW app.
For non-Sky subscribers interested in HBO Max, they can sign up directly on the HBO Max website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99. This move signifies a major shift in entertainment subscription services, providing customers with a comprehensive and seamless viewing experience.
