An individual known as the “human Barbie” influencer was discovered deceased and partially unclothed at the residence of a public official. Barbara Jankavski Marquez, aged 31, was tragically found dead following a statement made by a 51-year-old public defender who admitted to engaging her for “sexual services” the previous night. The official, residing at the location where the deceased influencer was located on Sunday, alleged that they had consumed drugs together. The incident occurred in the Lapa district of Sao Paulo, Brazil, as the influencer coughed repeatedly, appeared to fall asleep while watching TV, and was later found unresponsive.
The official claimed to have attempted resuscitation efforts for approximately nine minutes before realizing the lack of movement from the influencer, prompting a call to emergency services. Medical responders declared the influencer deceased around 9 pm after discovering her lying on her back in only her underwear, exhibiting an injury to her left eye and marks on her back.
A female acquaintance of the public defender, aged 43, disclosed to investigators that she had been present at the residence earlier but was not there at the time of the influencer’s demise. She recounted witnessing the influencer slipping and falling at around 4 am, resulting in an injury to her eye.
Law enforcement disclosed that the incident was categorized as a suspicious death and confirmed the awaiting of forensic and toxicological reports to ascertain the cause of death. The influencer, known online as “Boneca Desumana” (‘Inhuman Doll’), amassed more than 344,000 followers on TikTok and 55,000 on Instagram. She shared details of her extensive cosmetic surgery journey, which included more than 27 procedures amounting to over £43,000 (BRL 300,000). The surgeries encompassed various drastic interventions such as liposuction on the neck, abdomen, and legs, breast and buttock augmentations, eyebrow lifts, and five rhinoplasties to achieve a doll-like appearance.
This incident follows the brutal murder of another actress and influencer, Yoon Ji-ah, who was believed to have been assaulted and strangled to death within 30 minutes after a live stream by a VIP fan. Yoon’s body was discovered in a suitcase in the mountains after being left there following her murder. The autopsy revealed her cause of death as asphyxiation due to neck compression. Yoon was filming in Yeongjong Island, Incheon, South Korea, which is approximately a three-hour drive from where her body was ultimately found in Muju County.
