Donald Trump has sparked new concerns about his health following observations of him walking with a noticeable limp while spending time with his grandson. The US president was at the White House Presidential Walk of Fame with his nine-year-old grandson, Theodore Kushner, engaging in a game of NFL football. However, onlookers noticed Trump struggling to walk in a straight line, with some viewers even suggesting he appeared unstable and dragging one leg as he moved.
Social media users took to platforms like Twitter to comment on Trump’s gait, with one jokingly saying his walk would require a breathalyser test under different circumstances. Others nicknamed him “Limpy Don” and expressed worries about his physical condition. These observations come after a clinical psychologist, Dr. John Gartner, raised concerns about Trump’s coordination and suggested it could be a sign of dementia, specifically Frontotemporal dementia.
Dr. Gartner explained that Trump’s walking pattern, particularly the swinging motion of his right leg, could be indicative of a specific type of dementia. He further mentioned that other neurologists have identified this leg swing as a key symptom of Frontotemporal dementia. Despite these concerns, Trump has dismissed worries about his health, citing a recent White House physical examination that reported him to be in excellent cognitive and physical health. Additionally, the White House disclosed a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency to explain the presence of mysterious bruises on Trump’s hand.
