“Worcestershire Offers Up to £500 Energy Bill Support”

Struggling households in Worcestershire are encouraged to verify their eligibility for potential energy bill support of up to £500. This assistance is offered by Worcestershire County Council exclusively to residents of Worcestershire.

To qualify for the support, individuals must reside in Malvern, Worcester, Wychavon, Bromsgrove, Redditch, or Wyre Forest District and have a gross annual household income of £24,570 or less if single without children. For all other households, the income threshold is £31,000, excluding any benefits received.

Applicants must also have no household savings and meet one of five vulnerability criteria, such as receiving DWP benefits, being of state pension age, or having children under four years old. Households with children under 18 or young adults up to 21 in full-time education could receive up to £500 in energy assistance, while other households could receive up to £300.

Energy payments will be disbursed directly to the supplier or through Post Office vouchers for pre-payment customers. Interested individuals can apply for the scheme via the Act On Energy website. The support is part of the Household Support Fund allocated by Worcestershire County Council to aid vulnerable families.

For those outside Worcestershire, seeking support options, local councils like Surrey County Council are providing supermarket vouchers worth up to £300. These vouchers can be used at various supermarkets including Aldi, Asda, Farmfoods, Iceland, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and Waitrose.

Residents in Surrey aged over 18, with household savings under £2,000 on average over 90 days, and an annual household income below £27,007.50 before taxes are eligible for the scheme. Nottingham City Council is offering £100 vouchers to low-income individuals or those on benefits, with distribution ongoing until February 28, 2026.

Wakefield Council is distributing food vouchers to households on low income receiving council tax assistance. Pensioners receiving Council Tax Support have received a £70 voucher with additional vouchers planned for other households. Families on Council Tax Support will receive a £50 voucher from December 15, while other supported households will receive a £70 voucher in early December.
