“Manhattan Building Engulfed in Flames: FDNY Declares 4-Alarm Blaze Controlled”

Terrifying video footage captures a Manhattan building consumed by flames, with thick smoke emanating from the structure.

The New York City Fire Department swiftly responded to the incident, announcing the 3-alarm fire at 201 West 107th Street in Manhattan at 8:49 am, later escalating it to a four-alarm blaze.

After working diligently, the FDNY declared the fire under control by 10:30 am. Fire marshals are now investigating to determine the cause of the fire.

Acting chief EMS Paul Miano confirmed that all three reported injuries were minor.

When questioned about the fire’s origin, FDNY’s chief of operations, Kevin Woods, stated that the cause remains unknown at this time.

Expressing gratitude, Paul Miano praised the swift response of the fire department and EMS personnel, highlighting their dedication to the city’s safety.

Kevin Woods reported that emergency services arrived at the scene within three minutes of receiving the fire report at 8:20 am. He detailed the rescue of occupants on different floors, with one firefighter sustaining minor burns.

During a news conference, a fire official described the building as a six-story non-fireproof structure with extensive fire damage to multiple units.

Council member Shaun Abreu, present at the scene, offered assistance to those affected and commended the first responders for their efforts.

NYC Notify urged people to steer clear of the area due to the ongoing fire, advising caution and alerting residents about potential smoke and traffic disruptions.
