Malin + Goetz, a popular beauty brand, has entered administration, leading to the closure of its seven stores across the UK. These stores are located in various areas of London, including Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards. This move is anticipated to affect over 70 jobs.
In response to the administration, online orders from Malin + Goetz have been temporarily halted. The company’s website displays a message informing customers that online orders are currently not being accepted, but assures them that the collection will be accessible again soon.
Despite the store closures, customers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products through third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
A spokesperson for Malin+Goetz conveyed to TheIndustry.beauty that after a thorough business review and exploring various options, they have made the difficult decision to place their UK business into administration. This decision has led to the closure of all UK stores and the company’s head office. The spokesperson expressed regret over the impact on employees and customers, acknowledging the unfortunate but necessary loss of jobs.
While the company’s website is expected to resume operations following a brief maintenance period, the exact duration remains uncertain. Malin + Goetz, founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially offered six products tailored for all skin types but has since expanded its product line to include fragrances, body care items, and other beauty products.
