The passing of renowned music icon Ace Frehley is currently being investigated following the issuance of a toxicology examination. The beloved KISS star passed away at 74 years old last week.
Ace, a guitarist, had been in critical condition for weeks subsequent to a studio mishap that resulted in a fall, eventually leading to a brain hemorrhage. His family made the difficult decision to remove him from life support.
A representative from the Morris County Medical Examiner’s office disclosed that an autopsy was not conducted on the musician. Nevertheless, a toxicology screening is in progress, along with an external body evaluation.
While the exact cause of death has not been disclosed, the medical examiner’s office anticipates finalizing the cause in the approaching weeks, as reported by TMZ.
Ace was a pivotal figure as one of the founding members of KISS, forming the iconic band alongside Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss.
The band gained fame for chart-topping tracks like “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” and “Rock and Roll All Nite.” Ace departed the group in 1982 due to internal conflicts and substance abuse issues.
He later reunited with his former bandmates for a tour in 1996 but left again in 2002. Following his demise, his family issued a statement expressing their profound sorrow, reminiscing about his remarkable life and the positive impact he had on others.
Before his passing, Ace had reassured fans of his well-being despite the cancellation of his tour. However, subsequent medical complications prompted the cancellation of his remaining 2025 appearances.
In the aftermath of Ace’s death, his bandmate Gene conveyed his sadness at the loss. In a joint statement with Paul, he emphasized Ace’s enduring contribution to KISS’s legacy and extended sympathies to his loved ones and fans worldwide.
