Woman in Scotland Fakes Baby, Flees After Deception

A young woman from Airdrie, Scotland, who deceived her family and friends by fabricating a baby has reportedly left her residence and gone into hiding following backlash on social media. Kira Cousins, 22, pretended to be pregnant for months, then staged a solo childbirth with a lifelike doll named Bonnie-Leigh Joyce, which was uncovered by her mother. Outraged loved ones, who had showered her with gifts for the fake baby, expressed anger over the deceit. To avoid the fallout, Kira is said to have departed her home in Airdrie, Lanarkshire.

Concerned individuals are seeking answers from Kira, stating that her actions have caused distress and that she may need professional help. Her former friend disclosed that Kira shared fake sonograms and footage of a gender reveal party, leading up to the false birth announcement on October 10. Kira later admitted to fabricating the entire pregnancy, apologizing for the deception and acknowledging the harm caused to those who believed her lies.

Pal Neave McRobert revealed that suspicions arose when no crying sounds were heard in a video featuring the supposed baby, and Kira refused physical contact under the guise of the infant’s ill health. Conversations showing doubts about the baby’s authenticity were shared online, along with images of the doll in now-deleted posts by Kira. Neave expressed feeling deceived and manipulated by the elaborate hoax orchestrated by Kira.
