Teenage Boy Set on Fire in Australia; Family Shares Horrific Details

The family of a teenage boy who was reportedly attacked with petrol and set on fire has shared the disturbing details of his injuries. On the evening of October 13, Jacob Thompson, 19, was walking on Cowper Street in Coonabarabran, Australia when he was approached by a group consisting of a man and two women. According to police reports, one of them poured a liquid on Jacob before igniting him. Bystanders managed to put out the flames and Jacob was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Jacob’s family revealed that he suffered burns covering 32% of his body, including severe third-degree burns on his face, chest, arms, back, and legs. Due to the seriousness of his injuries and airway damage, Jacob was airlifted to Sydney and placed in a medically induced coma on life support, as stated by the family.

Currently, Jacob is under intensive care at Concord Hospital in Sydney, where his family has been providing support. The family expressed the profound trauma they experienced witnessing the incident, which has left lasting physical and emotional scars.

Authorities confirmed that a 45-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man, and a 17-year-old girl were arrested at a nearby location. The man faces charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and affray, while the older woman was charged with affray and both were denied bail. The teenage girl was released pending further investigation.
