“Sexual Activity at 90mph on German Autobahn Causes Chaos”

A German autobahn was nearly the scene of a major accident when a couple engaging in sexual activity while driving at 90mph caused chaos. The 37-year-old male driver and his 33-year-old female passenger were witnessed by a bystander veering erratically across the A1 motorway, prompting a call to the police.

The couple was apprehended at a petrol station near Münster following the witness report. The male driver now faces charges of endangering road safety due to his actions. Reports from local media revealed that at one point, the vehicle, heading towards Dortmund, swerved so severely to the right that a nearby truck had to veer onto the hard shoulder.

Although Germany’s Autobahn is renowned for its unrestricted speed limits on many stretches, not all sections are limitless. Approximately 30% of the roads have speed restrictions, with an additional 9% utilizing traffic systems for efficient traffic management. Certain areas impose strict speed limits, especially in high-traffic or high-risk zones.

In a separate incident in July, a driver was caught zooming down the Autobahn at an astonishing 200mph, significantly surpassing the speed limit by more than 124mph. The driver, whose identity was undisclosed, was apprehended during a routine check on the A2 highway near Burg, just west of Berlin.

Following the incident, police in Magdeburg imposed a €900 (£784) fine on the driver, along with a three-month driving ban and a deduction of two points from their license.
