Oasis recently honored their guitarist Bonehead with a heartfelt tribute as he had to withdraw from their ongoing world tour. The veteran rock musician, aged 60, had been a part of the band’s memorable UK performances but sadly revealed his cancer diagnosis, a recurrence of the disease he had overcome in 2022.
In a social media post on October 3, Bonehead, also known as Paul Arthurs, disclosed his battle with prostate cancer but expressed optimism about his treatment progress. Consequently, he announced his temporary absence from scheduled shows in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney, expressing regret at missing these performances but assuring fans of his return for the South American leg.
While wishing Bonehead a speedy recovery, band members Liam and Noel ensured his presence on tour by featuring a cardboard cutout of him during their performances. The Gallagher brothers extended their support to Bonehead, acknowledging his health as the top priority and anticipating his comeback for upcoming shows in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
In response to Bonehead’s situation, Liam’s close associate Mike Moore, part of his solo touring ensemble, will step in as the temporary rhythm guitarist for the upcoming Oasis gigs. Moore, who has been associated with Liam since 2017, is well-versed in the band’s repertoire from the solo performances.
Apart from Moore’s inclusion, Liam’s band for Oasis now includes Christian Madden on keyboards, alongside original members Noel Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Joey Waronker. The band remains committed to supporting Bonehead’s recovery and eagerly awaits his return to the stage.
