A woman’s death in Nottinghamshire has prompted a murder investigation, leading police to establish separate cordons in various areas across the region.
Authorities arrested a 40-year-old man after responding to a safety concern call at an address in Carlton late last night. Emergency responders found a woman in her 20s deceased at the scene.
The case is now under investigation as a murder, with detectives urging any witnesses to step forward with relevant information. Forensic teams have been deployed to the scene on Westdale Lane West and Woodborough Road.
Multiple cordons remain in place at Westdale Lane East, Carlton, Westdale Lane West where the incident occurred, and in Mapperley and Oxclose Lane, Bestwood. Police have assured the public of no imminent danger, labeling the incident as isolated.
Detective Inspector Stuart Barson, leading the inquiry, expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends. He emphasized the urgency of the investigation, calling on anyone with potential footage or information to come forward.
