The two had been engaged in a feud since October when Tate took over as the CEO of Misfits Boxing, replacing KSI, who co-founded the organization with manager Mams Taylor.
The YouTube star was furious about the change, especially considering his involvement in the organization from the beginning. Prior to the match, KSI celebrated Anthony Joshua’s victory over Jake Paul on Twitter, as the British heavyweight secured a win after six rounds.
KSI has a longstanding rivalry with Paul, dating back to their early boxing encounters involving their siblings. He expressed his desire for an Arsenal win and for Tate to be defeated to complete a great weekend.
Following Everton’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal, KSI tweeted about having the best weekend of the year, particularly after Tate’s defeat. He further taunted both Paul and Tate by posting a photo of their vulnerable moments with the caption “Christmas came early” accompanied by a crying emoji.
Despite Tate’s extensive background in combat sports, including MMA, kickboxing, K1, and Muay Thai, he had not competed professionally in five years and had no prior boxing experience. While Tate started strong, DeMoor took advantage of his waning stamina and landed a decisive blow, turning the tide of the match.
Post-fight, Tate acknowledged DeMoor’s victory, admitting that the latter deserved the win. He expressed happiness for DeMoor and emphasized the importance of trying and failing rather than not trying at all.
