Canadian filmmaker Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim have collaborated on a documentary called “You Can See Everything,” which offers an uncomfortable and intriguing look into the life of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. The documentary was shot in the 34 days leading up to Holmes’ 11-year prison sentence for defrauding investors.
Fielder and his crew, openly skeptical of Holmes’ claims of innocence, delve deep into her story, capturing moments of vulnerability and challenge. The film promises a unique exploration of Holmes’ persona, describing it as a “mind-bending, three-year journey into the abyss.”
The full-length trailer also sheds light on Holmes’ relationship with her husband Billy Evans, a scion of a successful hotelier family. The couple’s meeting coincided with the downfall of Theranos in 2017, a company that once propelled Holmes to the status of the youngest self-made female billionaire in the U.S. Forbes reported her claim of revolutionary blood-testing technology in 2014, only for federal charges to be filed against her the following year.
In the documentary, Fielder, known for his satirical show “Nathan for You,” interrogates Evans about his association with Holmes, questioning the dynamics of their relationship. Despite the skepticism surrounding Holmes, she and Evans welcomed their first child in August 2021, shortly before her conviction for wire fraud and conspiracy. Holmes later revealed her pregnancy with a second child after the sentencing.
The documentary promises a gripping narrative and is set to hit theaters on October 16.
