Footage has surfaced showing Anthony Joshua exiting a vehicle involved in a crash that resulted in the deaths of two individuals in Nigeria. The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, where Joshua, the former heavyweight champion, was traveling in a Jeep that collided with a stationary truck. Reports indicate that Joshua, who had recently defeated Jake Paul in a boxing match, was in the back seat of the vehicle and sustained minor injuries.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, with Joshua being taken to a hospital for treatment. Eyewitnesses rushed to assist those involved in the crash, with video footage showing Joshua being helped out of the vehicle in which he was traveling.
According to accounts from witnesses, the crash occurred when the vehicle swerved into the stationary truck after a tire burst. Tragically, two occupants of the vehicle, including the person seated next to Joshua, lost their lives in the accident.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, confirmed that Joshua was safe and en route to the hospital following the crash. This incident comes as Joshua had hinted at a significant year ahead, reigniting his rivalry with Tyson Fury. In a post on Instagram after his victory over Paul, Joshua expressed gratitude to his supporters and teased exciting developments in the upcoming New Year.
