Boy, 10, Partially Impaled on Railings in Bike Accident

A 10-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital this afternoon after getting partially impaled on metal railings. The incident occurred on Wadeson Road in Walton, Liverpool, at approximately 3.25pm on Friday, October 31. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and firefighters, responded to reports of the child’s bicycle accident.

Witnesses stated that the boy lost control of his bike while turning a corner, leading to him falling onto a garden fence. A section of Wadeson Road and Frampton Road has been cordoned off following the incident.

According to a resident, the boy seemed to have sustained injuries to his stomach. Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service deploying two fire engines and a search and rescue team.

The fire crews collaborated with North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics to safely remove the conscious and breathing boy from the railings. After receiving pain relief, the child was freed from the railing and handed over to paramedics for transportation to the hospital. The emergency teams concluded their operation by 3.38pm.

Merseyside Police also confirmed their presence at the scene to support the ongoing rescue efforts. The 10-year-old boy, the sole individual involved in the accident, was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained while riding his bicycle on Wadeson Road.
