A 13-year-old boy was stabbed at Manchester Piccadilly station, as confirmed by the police. The incident occurred near the short stay car park on Monday afternoon, leading to the teenager being taken to the hospital. Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening or life-altering, according to the British Transport Police.
Following the stabbing, a 13-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of GBH (wounding with intent). Additionally, three other boys, one aged 13 and two aged 12, were also arrested on suspicion of affray. They have all been released on bail as the investigation progresses.
Detective Inspector Stephen Kite described the incident as shocking, highlighting that it occurred in broad daylight in front of numerous shocked witnesses. The police have been interviewing witnesses and pursuing other leads, but they believe there are more individuals who witnessed the event and have not yet come forward.
Moreover, the authorities suspect that there may be individuals who were driving past and might have captured crucial dash cam footage of the incident. Detective Inspector Kite urged these potential witnesses to contact the police promptly. He emphasized that violence on the railway network will not be tolerated, and every effort will be made to hold those accountable for their actions.
The injured boy has been discharged from the hospital.
