Former Little Mix member Leigh-Anne Pinnock has expressed her thoughts and prayers for her grandparents and others affected by Hurricane Melissa. The storm has struck Jamaica with winds reaching up to 185mph, marking it as the most powerful storm to hit the Caribbean island.
People are preparing for the severe impact of the storm, and Leigh-Anne, 34, used her Instagram platform to extend her well wishes to those affected. She posted on her Stories, “Prayers to my Grandparents, family and everyone in Jamaica and the Caribbean right now,” accompanied by a red love heart on a black background to convey her concern.
In Jamaica, significant flooding has occurred in the southwestern region, causing damage to buildings and roads from the strong winds. Although initially classified as a Category 5 storm, Hurricane Melissa has since been downgraded.
Following its impact on Jamaica, the storm is expected to move towards eastern Cuba. Authorities have evacuated over 500,000 individuals from high-risk areas prone to flooding and extreme winds.
The Met Office has provided insights on how Hurricane Melissa could influence the weather in the UK in the upcoming days.
Apart from her concerns about the hurricane, Leigh-Anne recently discussed the challenges in her marriage due to her husband’s career commitments abroad. She revealed that she only sees her husband, footballer Andre Gray, around three times a month, creating a difficult situation for the couple over the past three years.
During an interview on the Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed podcast, Leigh-Anne acknowledged the strain the distance puts on her husband and their family, emphasizing the challenges they face due to his overseas career.
The couple, who have been together since 2016 and got engaged in 2020, shared their excitement about starting a family, expressing their long-held dreams coming true as they anticipated the arrival of their child.
