New details have emerged regarding the alleged gunman at Brown University, as authorities have provided additional information. The suspect, described as a man dressed entirely in black, reportedly entered the Barus and Holley engineering building and began shooting around 4:05 p.m. local time.

Tragically, two individuals have been confirmed dead, with eight others sustaining critical injuries but now in stable condition at the hospital. The suspect is believed to have fled on foot down Hope Street. The last sighting of the gunman was shortly after 4 p.m. when the initial emergency call was made.

In an update, Brown University stated, “We regret to confirm the loss of two lives in the active shooting incident at the Barus and Holley engineering building.” Additionally, there are eight victims in critical condition at the hospital, and a shelter-in-place order remains in effect as the shooter(s) have not been apprehended yet.
