Amateur Footballer Hospitalized with Fractured Skull

An amateur football player was hospitalized with a fractured skull following an incident during a non-league match in Liverpool. Richard Agbasoga, a temporary NHS worker and a student from Ghana, is not eligible for sick pay. His team, Ormskirk West End, has initiated a fundraising campaign to support him during his recovery period.

Reports suggest that Agbasoga was attacked by intruders during a match between Ormskirk West End and Calci FC, where he sustained head injuries. The match was interrupted after the incident, with Ormskirk West End leading 2-0 at the time. Calci FC’s games have been suspended pending an investigation by the Liverpool County FA disciplinary department.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Agbasoga during his absence from work, with donations exceeding £2,400 from over 70 contributors. Social media users have expressed support for Agbasoga and criticized the alleged violence during the match.

Sky has reduced prices for its Essential TV and Sky Sports package for the upcoming season, offering members savings and increased live match coverage. Sky plans to broadcast over 215 live Premier League games in the next season, a substantial increase from previous seasons.
