‘Online Fan Ejected from Australian Open for Rowdy Behavior’

A tennis enthusiast who gained online fame for supporting Emma Raducanu has been ejected from the Australian Open for disruptive behavior. James Bray, known for wearing an ‘Australia’ tank top and cheering Raducanu as ‘Raddo’, was acknowledged by the player during a post-match interview. Despite this, Bray’s exuberant support for Alex de Minaur in a later match led to his removal from the Rod Laver Arena due to being deemed overly rowdy.

Bray documented his expulsion on social media, showing police issuing a 24-hour ban and a fine of $700. Despite his sarcastic response to the situation, he described the experience as somewhat amusing. He expressed disappointment at being asked to leave despite what he perceived as respectful behavior, emphasizing that he was supporting the players like any other fan.

Tennis Australia confirmed that Bray had received warnings before his eviction, citing disruptive behavior and disregard for staff instructions. Victoria Police also addressed the incident, noting that 21 individuals were removed from the venue for various alcohol and behavioral issues, with overall satisfaction regarding the crowd’s conduct at the event.
