Darts player Dom Taylor has publicly apologized for deceiving others about his drug use and shared his emotional journey, including the loss of his daughter. The 27-year-old made a detailed statement on Facebook following his expulsion from the PDC World Championship.
The Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) announced that Taylor tested positive for drugs on December 14 and was subsequently barred from further participation in the tournament. Despite his initial win against Oskar Lukasiak, Taylor’s prize money was withheld due to his suspension, and his opponent, Jonny Clayton, advanced to the next round.
In his social media post, Taylor expressed regret for his behavior, revealing a previous failed drug test prior to the 2025 Ally Pally tournament. He admitted to misleading others in his post-match interview after the Lukasiak match and acknowledged the impact of his past traumas during his teenage years.
Taylor revealed that despite completing the required program following his previous suspension, he faced mental health challenges aggravated by personal losses. He mentioned seeking help after the holiday season and recognized the importance of reaching out to others during difficult times.
Reflecting on missed opportunities and personal struggles, Taylor emphasized the need for support and expressed his determination to overcome his challenges. He conveyed his apologies to his fans, family, and supporters, promising to return stronger after addressing his issues.
