Former President Donald Trump has left open the possibility of pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell and dismissed inquiries about the Epstein files, stating his indifference towards the release of further documents. This follows the disclosure of over 23,000 documents to Congress by Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, which included numerous emails referencing Trump.
Within those emails, Epstein alleged that Trump was aware of the situation involving the girls but noted that he himself had never received a massage. Trump responded by expressing ignorance regarding Epstein’s insinuations and redirected attention to Epstein’s associations with Bill Clinton.
Trump recently announced on his Truth Social platform his intention to direct Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate prominent individuals linked to Epstein, such as former President Clinton. Justifying his directive, Trump asserted his authority as the “chief law enforcement agent” of the United States.
When questioned about supporting the House of Representatives’ initiative to release more Epstein files, Trump showed disinterest, labeling it a Democratic ploy and emphasizing the need to scrutinize Epstein’s acquaintances, including Reid Hoffman. Hoffman, in response, urged Trump to disclose all Epstein-related files for the sake of justice for the victims.
Regarding the prospect of pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, Trump claimed he had not contemplated it for months and refrained from ruling it out definitively.
